These photos were recently on display in London as part of the The Water on Lens exhibition was a photo-exhibition on at the London’s Film Museum, which co-incidentally is above the Aquarium on Southbank. It taken from underwater shots from movies, and was sponsored by Hunter boot, who makes “wellys”, which I think is just British for gumboot.
Not to be blindly congratulated, however, as I’m told one shot featured James Blunt. But I love the awkward foot in this shot, it takes away from fashion photography. Tyra always does a watershoot at some stage of each season of America’s Next Top Model, and she would have eliminated someone for that foot.

The boots in question are from Kate Sylvester’s Diamond Dogs collection. A lustful affair if every there was one. The handmade boots are from G&L in Australia.

TVNZ7’s promo for Spotlight on the economy, fronted by Minster of Finance Bill English, was acknowledged as a rush of blood to the head on behalf of the broadcasters. The claim by Labour that they got “hundreds of thousands of free advertising” seems dependant on how many people actually watch TVNZ7, other than to watch Shortland St: From the beginning.
Whether it is “propaganda” or not probably depends on what side of the political divide you rest on, and there are people that care a great deal. But what’s more interesting, to me, are his costume changes.
Bill “emerges” from an out of focus shot, as he says, “As we emerge from the recession, improving our economic productivity is critical.”
He casually adjusts mustard-yellow tie, with the Skytower in the background. Under a black suit, he wears a blue shirt, with all its working class connotations. (White is too much like money traders.)
“We have under-performed compared to the per capital grown of Australia.”
After a merge courtesy of the flippy-triangles, like a tamagram, we’re revealed with colloquial Bill: patriotic black polo shirt, and a white, studio TVNZ7 background, and a more casual register and tenor.
“You know, we can beat those Ossies. It’s time to back ourselves, and apply some old fashion kiwi can do.
And then it’s time for some figures, so it’s back to the suit: “As growth resumes, GDP is expected to expand through to March 2013.”
Back to polo…
“We’re nearly through the tough times, things are looking up. Together us kiwis can do it.”
And then the titles, “TVNZ & translates the recession/ into Plain English/ Because it’s your economy too.”

I’m currently unemployed, or as I like to put it, “freelance”.
As a result, I have no reason to be on the Australian ebay, and far too much time for excess blogging. My interest in Claire Inc supports both vices.
As a seller on eBay, with a supporting website, she lists hundreds of pieces of designer vintage. I’ve been trawling their website of months, particularly before the sewing machine ever came out, using it for inspiration and have never bought a single thing.

I had been looking for a flat, slightly masculine, laceless boot when I found this courtesy of so much to tell you. The only catch was they were the Chloe, and I will never be able to afford them.
I love them so much because of the dandy quality to them. I have freakishly small feet, a god send when it comes to vintage footware; a bugger when it comes to wearing blokes’ boots.
From memory, Kate Sylvester also used a similar boot on both the boys and girls for her Diamond Dogs collection, in both black and brown.

How many of us started our own magazine, when we were little? And it was as easy as having a scrapbook, scissors, glue, felt and old mags to pillage. These days, I still envision my own publication, like most people aspire to owning a house. It would be extremely unlikely to happen, of course, but I would have nothing on my front covers but illustrations. I love the way the New Yorker still do this, much like their layout hasn’t changed all this time.
